Kevin Harvick clinches Cup Series championship at Dover

Racing

It was a huge day for Marathon coach owner Kevin Harvick, as he won both stages of Sunday’s Drydene 311 NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway. By winning the first stage on the concrete surface of the Monster Mile, Harvick clinched the 2020 regular-season Cup Series championship, along with the 15-point playoff bonus that goes with it. Harvick then swept the second stage of the race as well, taking the checkered flag by 3.525 seconds and securing his series-leading seventh victory of the season. The win was also Harvick’s third at Dover and the 56th of his career, and he is now tied with Kyle Busch for ninth on the all-time NASCAR victories list. Congratulations Kevin, and best of luck in the 2020 Cup Series Playoffs!
