While visiting Camp Sherman for "The Maratime" cover shoot as well as seeking some incredible calendar shots, we visited with Marathon coach owners Gary and Alice Nelson at the Camp Sherman Store and fly Shop. Surrounded by towering trees and mere steps from the Metolius River, the store has been the hub of this community for over 90 years. Roger White, the store's proprietor, carries rods, accessories, gourmet foods, tea steepers, t-shirts, mugs, ice cream, soap, soda and just about everything you knew you needed and quite a few things you didn't even know existed. Oh, and he has hamburgers. Apparently, it's what's for dinner.
