Netflix's The Hawk follows Lonnie "The Hawk," portrayed by Will Ferrell, a larger-than-life former golf legend whose unconventional return to the spotlight leads to an unforgettable road trip. Throughout the series, one of the production's most recognizable vehicles is a Marathon Coach, serving as both transportation and a memorable backdrop to the story.
That coach is Marathon Coach #0469, built in 1997 on a Prevost XLV chassis. Nearly three decades after it left our factory, it was selected for the production, a testament to the timeless design and enduring craftsmanship that have long defined Marathon Coach.

Coach #0469 represents an exciting chapter in our history. It was one of the very first Marathons built with our TechLink electrical architecture, a proprietary multiplex control system that dramatically simplified coach operation and diagnostics. Rather than relying on extensive traditional wiring, TechLink allows multiple coach functions to communicate over a central network, improving reliability while making service and troubleshooting more efficient. It's a philosophy that has stood the test of time, and Marathon Coaches continue to build upon that same foundation today.
The coach was also built on one of Prevost's early Independent Front Suspension (IFS) chassis, a significant advancement that improved ride quality, handling, and driver comfort. Mounted on the Prevost XLV platform, #0469 combined the legendary durability of the chassis with the luxury craftsmanship that defined Marathon Coach during the late 1990s.

Inside, #0469 reflected the luxury styling of its era. The salon featured one of Marathon's signature mirror accent ceilings, complemented by a single sofa and two barrel-style lounge chairs that created an inviting space for relaxing or entertaining. The interior combined rich blue and maroon tones with Silver Fusion high-polished laminate cabinetry, a look that was unmistakably of its time while showcasing the premium craftsmanship Marathon was known for.
Outside, the coach wore multiple shades of blue in a classic 1990s Marathon paint design. For filming, the production wrapped much of the upper portion of the coach to fit the show's aesthetic. Look closely, however, and you'll still see the original Marathon paint on the lower stainless panels and across the front of the coach.
One of the greatest strengths of a Marathon Coach is that it was built to evolve. Through thoughtful remodels and upgrades, many owners have modernized their coaches with new flooring, furniture, electronics, lighting, soft goods, appliances, and technology while preserving the craftsmanship that made them special in the first place. The result is a coach that feels current without losing the personality and quality of its original build.
Whether your Marathon is five years old or thirty, our service centers in Oregon, Texas, and Florida are here to help keep it performing and looking its best. From routine maintenance to complete interior remodels, our factory-trained teams understand these coaches better than anyone because we built them.

We're proud to see Coach #0469 continue its story on screen. More importantly, we're proud that nearly 30 years after it was built, it's still turning heads, proving that a Marathon Coach is built for far more than a single chapter. It's built for a lifetime of adventures.
