Even when not in use, maintaining your Marathon is important. If it\u2019s been a while since you\u2019ve taken a road trip, the water in your P-traps \u2013 the U-shaped pipes under your sinks \u2013 can evaporate. It\u2019s not fun being greeted by unpleasant smells after being away from your coach for a while. Instead of trying to mask that stench with air freshener after the fact, you can prevent those bad smells from ever happening.<\/p>\n

How to prevent odors from a dry P-trap:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Once per month, turn on the faucet.<\/li>\n
  2. Pour water into your sink.<\/li>\n
  3. Make sure the P-trap still has a good seal in it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
