Chase Elliott gets first victory of 2022 at Dover

Racing

Congratulations to Marathon coach owner Chase Elliott, who got his first victory of the 2022 NASCAR Cup season Monday at the DuraMAX Drydene 400 at Delaware’s Dover Motor Speedway. After a weather delay that forced a restart of the race on Monday – and a whopping 17 lead changes – Elliott led the final 53 laps to take the checkered flag. Dover is Elliott’s first triumph of the 2022 campaign and his 14th career NASCAR Cup Series win, and gives him a 50-point lead in the championship standings. Congratulations, Chase, and may this be the first of many victories this season!
