Chase Elliott wins at Road America on Independence Day

Racing

Chase Elliott (24) hangs out in the garage during practice for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee.

Congratulations to Marathon owner Chase Elliott, who continues his extraordinary success on road courses with a win at the Jockey Made in America 250 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Elliott took the checkered flag on Sunday despite starting from the back of the pack due to caution flags during qualifying. It was his second win of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series. At the age of 25, Elliott has already amassed seven career Cup Series victories on road courses – this total is good for third place in NASCAR history. With only two more road-course wins, Elliott will catch Jeff Gordon for the record at nine, and this year’s NASCAR Cup Series schedule features a record-high seven road courses. Congratulations Chase, and best of luck for continued success in 2021!
