Kevin Harvick (4) gets ready to qualify for the Monster Energy All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina

Marathon Coach owner Kevin Harvick has been named Richard Petty Driver of the Year for 2020, the National Motorsports Press Association announced Friday. The Richard Petty Driver of the Year award is presented annually to anoint the season’s most outstanding driver, and Harvick was the 2020 NASCAR regular-season champion, winning a career-best nine races and finishing fifth in the final standings after narrowly missing qualification for the Championship 4 race in Phoenix. Harvick received 45% of the votes cast by NMPA membership this year, and this is his fourth Driver of the Year award, having received the distinction in 2001, 2014 and 2018. Way to go, Kevin!
