Jimmie Johnson receives 2020 NMPA Myers Brothers Award
Congratulations to Marathon coach owner Jimmie Johnson on winning the 2020 National Motorsports Press Association’s Myers Brothers Award. Just two weeks after earning the NMPA’s Bill France Award of Excellence, Johnson added to his hardware collection with the Myers Brothers Award, which honors individuals and/or groups who have provided outstanding contributions to stock car racing. Both awards were selected by vote of the NMPA membership. Johnson just retired from NASCAR at the close of the 2020 season, and during his tenure collected a record-tying seven Cup Series titles and finished his 19-year career tied for sixth place with 83 overall victories. While Johnson has secured a legacy with his competitive driving prowess, he will also be remembered for his benevolence – to date, the Johnson family has contributed more than $12 million to various charitable organizations through the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. Congratulations and keep up the good work, Jimmie!
