The origin of extraordinary comes down to the details. Aside from hiring the finest craftspeople and the most knowledgeable and adventurous engineers, we reimagine the daily routine by including leading edge tools.
This is one reason we’ve used a CNC, short for “computer numerical control,” machine for 13 years. And with the purchase of a new state-of-the-art machine in the summer of 2018, we have more creative capacities than ever before.
The five-axis capability allows us to continue to advance our cabinet construction and make assembly easier and faster, saving our clients both time and money. Plus, because this machine can hold three times the tools, there’s even more enhanced efficiency.
“This advanced CNC will allow Marathon to be increasingly innovative on new designs, which will keep us the forerunners in the industry,” said Production Division Manager Mike Perotti. “The added cutting tools, 42 in all, plus a saw blade and 21 new drills, will improve efficiencies for component and cabinet assemblies. The five-axis capability, instead of the average three-axis, will allow us to add special features into the design and build of cabinetry and more. I could go on. The team’s excited!”
One of the more dramatic benefits is the ability to create more complex parts, such as the ornate, custom-designed art doors for Marathon’s newly introduced hidden appliance center.
